daspinall Posted October 29, 2022 Share Posted October 29, 2022 (edited) They even gave me a new Kodiak 100 Series II and co-pilot Dr Dawn Aldaye... so at 0730hrs we're prepped and ready for take off for Anchorage in really bad weather.... The first job for the base is to replenish the low blood stocks.. high winds and low vis all the way into Ted Stevens and still we made good time... the blood supplies were waiting ready to load, and a quick 30 min turn around with coffee pots filled and on our way back to base... Dawn was a medic in the military, she did her tour in Afghanistan, turned out her husband was a chopper pilot in Afghanistan and also at Kodiak base too..... it's a funny old world, as for me I know no one in this part of the world...... It's a very dark place in winter...
