il88pp
Ah, symlinks are not new to you. But I don't see what you mean. You suggest moving a folder. In this situation with autothumb, moving the "Flight Simulator X Files" -folder is not going to do anything. You need to replace the folder by a "Flight Simulator X Files" -Symlink. (Which points to the "Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition" -folder.) (and the syntax I gave is fine for that I think, or not?) jandjfrench
Hi, Actually, as I said, I was no longer interested in dealing with autothumbnail. I was simply sharing a simple way to move a folder to another location and create a link to it in the original location. When I had a 64GB SSD as my main drive, which had both Windows and FSX, I figured that I could allow more space for scenery by relocating the SimObjects folder to an HD. il88pp
Ah, thanks for clarifying. I thought you were referring to my post. But you were describing another function of mklink. Ok. Wow, I learned a lot of fun stuff during this thread!:) cheers, il88pp. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
