Is Data Streaming Correctly ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is there a way to tell if MSFS is streaming real scenery data or not? While setting up a flight I got the message that "You Are Currently Offline" but I had a good modem connection and under my screenname it said "You Are Online" . Thanks.

If while in the sim you get the Your offline message, then the sim is not connecting to the servers.

Inside the sim, main menu, Options, General Options, Data and ensure that Bing Data World Graphics AND Photogrammetry are both switched on.

Sometimes updates will switch them off, I've even had it switched off if my Internet drops off for a few seconds.

Tom,

I've been noticing the same thing of late. It seems my scenery is the off-line version even though I have all data turned on. Yesterday I took my high-speed Cessna 152 and flew in the chase position and watched the scenery loading as the aircraft passed over it! I have 100Mbps fiber optic internet, so there's plenty of speed and bandwidth. I can only surmise that it's another server issue of which there seem to have been many of late! Hopefully it will improve!

One big thing I found out is that even though I have 600 Mbps service coming in, what I get from MS is WAY below that. Server speed does indeed play a part in this :(
