hjwalter
Translated from Dutch: After FlightGear in 2020 I stepped over to FS9/FS2004. Fantastic on a standard PC. The 24 standard aircraft... and the downloads. VFR and IFR is now all possible.... (Airport) Eelde in the fog. Or flying in the Learjet-45 doing a circuit around Eelde. David25210
Agree, FS2004 rocks. Works great, is stable, bugs free.... (Have FS2002, FS2004, FSX, P3Dv4 and MSFS2020..)
Joop Kruize
Yes, I know. But that’s no problem. I Like the Good old Prop’s. FS9 is better than my FlightGear in 2020. But in some details FG was better. I cold look around in the cockpit with a pan-function, like in FSX. In FS9 there are only same View’s and no Pan moving viewers. https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=39122#p385539
Joop Kruize
Thanks… Hans for translating my Dutch .. and first replay on this forum-site. I jumped in the deap and it feels a little bit strange. All starts als difficult in some way. Flighing a lot off aircrafts VFR and IFR al around the world … I love that. But Forums… That’s something else. I’m just a beginner, trying to type something in English language.

defaid
In FS9 there are only same View’s and no Pan moving viewers.[/url] Hi. I'm not sure if this is what you meant and I've never had FSX but -- aside from the usual pan with the POV hat on a joystick -- panning with the mouse is possible in FS9, though neither works in the 2d view. The virtual cockpit in Dave Maltby's BAC 1-11 has a spot you can grab with the mouse and drag the view around. I recall that his readme or user guide stated that it's a stock function in FS9 but almost never implemented. D

richiemo
Could not agree more here. 15 years in and I am still amazed how great FS9 is for simming. I get 60 FPS and smooth as silk, and all the add-ons, aircraft and airports, are great. Only real issue I ran into recently was on some FSDreamteam Hawaii airports, can't download them and even that's apparently cause I have windows 8.1. But otherwise, long live FS9
