StringBean
If you are using Win7 or Win8 there is a built in tool called the Snipping Tool that works great for making thumbnails. You can also search the file library, there is a tool that I have never used called autothumbnail or something similar. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? napamule2
You need IrFanview. Google it for download link (ie: it is not at FS sites). Small foot print, VERY easy to use, but FULL of features. I use 'PrintScrn' key(s) to capture screen. I open IrFanview, click on PASTE icon. You will be able to see the size of original pic on bottom of window. If you click on '-' icon you can reduce to size you 'like' and the size will be seen on top border of window. You drag with left mouse to mark area to include in pic (ie: get rid of 'stuff' you don't want). Click 'Copy' icon, then 'D' key (ie: clears display) then 'Paste' icon. Wala, you have a screenshot. For post to forum '747 x xxx' is a good size. For a thumb you click on 'Image', then scroll down and click on 'Resize/Resample' and enter the pixel size (from up top), then 'OK'. Done. Thumbnails work good at '333 pixel x XXX'. You can't go wrong with IrFanView. And it's free (and no nags or banners or virus). DeeCee333
I use FRAPS, I started using it several years ago when I was Sim Racing, and it works just as well for Flight Sims. FRAPS can monitor frame rates, make movies and take screen shots.

napamule2
Well, can Fraps RESIZE a jpg/bmp? Can Fraps improve the color. IE: In IrFanView you go to 'Image', then look down list to 'Color Correction'. Click on that and in right side of window that opens there are 3 sliders. The 'Gamma' is very handy to make a dark pic become a perfect pic. You can also add a LITTLE contrast, and maybe a LITTLE color too. Too many times simmers post dark, hard to make out, pics. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this. Get it together. Get IrFanView. LIVE RIGHT. Cheers.
