Daher TBM Panel

Recommended Posts

Now that we are several updates into MSFS, I'm going to finally give the TBM another shot (I had several problems with this airplane in the initial release, and have been avoiding it.)

Just one question... Where in the heck is the avionics power switch? I've been through every inch of the panel, figured out the bizarre "crash bar" feature on the battery/GPU switches, but no luck.

I apologize in advance if this is another in a series of "brain farts" on my part, but can someone give me a hint? Thanks!

Press Ctrl+8 for the Overhead, big silver switch on the far right. The black switch to the left of it is the fuel tank Auto Change switch.

I'm a bit confused. Ctrl+8 (or Ctrl+8 numpad, or Ctrl+F8), do nothing on my system. Is it supposed to pull up a pop-up window of some sort (like on a 2D panel?) Every available switch on the TBM panel appears to be accessible thru the VC, and none seem to be related to avionics power.

I should add that this issue (avionics displays blank) occurs roughly every third time the aircraft is loaded. Normally, the Garmin displays power up when the battery switch is thrown. Those instances where this doesn't happen are the ones that have me looking for a dedicated avionics power switch that all of the other cockpits appear to have.

My apologies, it should be Ctrl+5 on your keyboard which zooms in to the Overhead panel where the Autopilot master switch is on the far right. I'm not aware of an Avionics master switch, but I can recommend the Working Title G3000 mod for the TBM on Github: https://github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages/releases/tag/g3000-v0.3.2 which should put an end to the blank screens issue.

I installed the G3000 mod and another issue that persists is when raising or lowering the eyepoint view in the TBM (Page Up or Page Down), the displays go blank and will not turn back on until the aircraft is reloaded.

Sorry for the late reply, but the default key for raising/lowering the eyepoint is Spacebar. Maybe the Page Up and Page Down keys are also assigned to some other function? I've checked the key commands list and can't find anything that doesn't also include Shift, Alt or Ctrl + Page Up/Page Down.

Strange. Page Up and Page Down are the default eyepoint height keys for all of my aircraft, and they work flawlessly on all of them with the exception of the TBM issue I mentioned.

I have the Microsoft Store version. I have heard of differences based of which version of the sim being used (?) Don't know if this applies.

Overall it's not a huge problem, but it is kind of disappointing. Of all the aircraft in MSFS, I was looking forward to flying the TBM most of all!

If you assigned Page Up and Page Down manually, it could be conflicting with the G3000 mod's key commands. I use the MSFS default, Spacebar, with no problems - so far!

The strange part is that Page Up and Page Down are the default eyepoint keyboard settings for my installation, both the original (first) installation I performed, and the one re-installation I have done. I never touched these key assignments either time.

That's why I was wondering if there were something different with these settings depending on what installation source was used (MS Store, disk media, etc.) I've seen comments that there are configuration differences based on what package was used, though I don't know if this includes default keyboard assignments.

That could be the reason, I have the MS Store version, but I must try the Page Up/Down keys and see if they work on mine.

I've now tried the Page Up & Page Down keys on my MS Store version, and Page Up toggles the Avionics Master switch on/off, but Page Down seems to be unassigned and does nothing.
