FlyerDoc
It seems to me that every add-on or tweak is simply chucked into the 'Community' folder. It's rapidly becoming too full to be able to categorise and find things. Is there a way to divide up the files by category - say, aircraft, scenery, utilities, or whatever - and then indicate in one of the cfg files where the files have been put - bit like the SceneryLibrary in FSX? You could put files anywhere as long as they were declared. Same with aircraft. Otherwise the Community folder is going to become unmanageable. rajgon
Since the name of the add on folder doesn't matter, you can rename them to what you like, such as Aircraft-addonname, Airport-addonname, etc. This should keep them organized. You can't currently do a subfolder structure within community. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
FlyerDoc
No, that's what I was after, a sub-folder or even sub-sub-folder structure to keep each file type in its own sub-folder. A shame it can't be done, and maybe something we will all want before long. How about it, MS?

I changed the name of an addon (Kennedy Space Center) and found that it did not show up in the sim – only when I changed the name of the folder back to the original (aquilasim-nasa) did it work. Even shortening to just "aquasim" causes the addon objects to not show up. Can anybody explain this? I can’t imagine why changing the addon folder name in Community matters – but it does! It's because each add-on has two .json files, basically config files, which contain the files and folders location info for each add-on. If you change the folder name you'll have to edit the .json files as well. Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." cobalt
Thanks -- I changed the title in the "layout" file to match the new folder name, but I don't see how to edit the "manifest" file, as the folder title does not appear there. Any suggestions?
tiger1962
The manifest file won't need editing if there's no folder name in there. cobalt
Thanks again. As far as I can tell, the only other place besides the layout file in which the folder name is required, is in the sub-folder included in "ContentInfo" which contains the thumbnail. Changing this, along with the layout file, still doesn't do the trick. Only the original file name works. I do appreciate your help on this. If you have any other ideas I would be happy to hear them!
