flightsim on windows 8.1

best members.I finally got flight simulator x gold edition installed

the following problem which now arises is that once I am in the menu to change something, there is an error message that there is a fatal error occurred. and that the flight simulator is started again. what can I do about it. I have Windows 8.1 12 gb ram and 2.50 ghz prosessor 64 bits.

Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Event Viewer, select Custom Views-> Administrative Events.

One of the listed events in the source column will be for your CTD. Highlight them with the mouse and look below.

On the General Tab will be a synopsis of that highlighted/selected event.

Look for the Faulting module name:

Knowing what module causes the CTD will help us, help you...Don
