il2crashesnfails
abit of fun trying out each against train. I think the best option would be a single 250kg bomb

Do you think a bomb attached to a stuka or a 109 would be more accurate? I have seen some real footage of train strafing and they seem to use what you suggest. mallcott
A bomb attached to a Stuka would be inherently more accurate compared to a 109 - it was a dive bomber for a reason. However, hitting a moving train - particularly in the boiler or other functional item - is much more than some arbitrary notion of `accuracy`. A dive bomber obviously delivers bomb to target by steep dive, and if you look at the history of aircraft v. train you will see dive bombers are a terrible choice. Unless you equip them with big guns and attack from a shallow angle. Strafing has degrees of coincidence to getting train and bullets in the same place at the right time that are potentially more accurate and cover more ground than any single bomb. Increasing the probability of a hit.
