Testing orbx freeware!

Hi! Playing with orbx freeware! Some of their airports don't feature all objects however! Fine anyway and work the tweaking. Much realistic pictures! I personally don't like the ambient sounds (public, birds, etc.) provided with some sceneries! :pilot:

I don't know your age but if you are senior did you know you can get a discount with proof of age with Orbx scenery.

 

It is something they don't advertise much, I found out after I already bought some, I asked if I could get a refund but the answer was no, I did buy more from them but made sure they knew I was a senior, once it is recorded with them any more you buy you will/should still get the discount.

Personally, I likely will keep with their freewares and use them here and there, for fine pictures :):)

Orbx have a habit of putting a lot of static aircraft on their scenery, when you download any there is a control pane where you have the option to not have them plus other things like the zombie people and ai aircraft flying.

ColR1948: that's make me to back from my first statement; at the exception of the Rügen airport which lacks any tower (I will check that on the Internet), all freeware are fine. I checked further the annoying bird and people sounds in some sceneries may be deactivated through a control panel, and even moving people, I think

Yes, you need the Global base for some, and regional scenery for others Aharon. :)

In fact theoretically yes, but practically no, like confirmed by statements of users on the Internet

 

With their FTC Central installer and a libraries of objects some 1,9 Go (worth the time of download) and adding, of exemple, their Global Airport Pack freeware, you get a rejuvenation of a list of airports in FSX. Some objects may be missing but, with the few terrains I checked, not much annoyance. Not all of course :cool:

Interesting thanks for expanations Can you please show screenshot of how you list ORBX sceneries in your add on scenery list in FSX?

Their installer is usually installing most of the download automatically into the scenery.cfg file. And maybe some tweaking with the hierarchy displayed here might influence what appears or not at some terrains. Cheers!

Orbx base packages or Orbx regional packages are on top of Orbx airports???? I thought Orbx airports are supposed to be on top of base packages or regional packages?

Nope! :):) The install like is works, at the exception of EDCG which doesn't display buildings (will try to descend the object libraries, ORBXLIBS below)

Also if you get any anomalies like the ground not looking right, small hills where they shouldn't be that kind of thing, there is a settings tab at the bottom of FTX Central, click on that and you get this, I got the elevation problem at EGCC Manchester and this cleared it, everything looks normal now.

Sure! But that panel comes with one of their paywares. With their FTX Central, you just got some tunings for some sceneries (like getting rid of sounds, moving people at terrains, etc.)

If any of you have ORBX stuff, please post screenshots of scenery library showing proper list of Orbx base packages and Orbx airports so that I can study them.

aharon, your call seem to have passed unseen :):)

I contribute with that new one. I added more freeware from orbx and it looks like the installer brought the Objects library (FTXAA_ORBXLIBS) to the top

Thanks for 2 cool links Much appreciated First link is cool and nice. The second link is in French......... and I do not have French girlfriends to do translating for me. Maybe I should fly to nearby Quebec to find a French girl and ask her to translate for me :)
