ColR1948
I was flying through a thunderstorm recently and lightning all around, I was thinking can an aircraft get struck by it? Is it in the realism settings, I turned mine off because I didn't want the flying tips flashing up? Col.
PhantomTweak
I believe an aircraft can get struck, but I can't swear to it. I have no idea what setting might control it. I've seen a sign above several military ready-rooms, btw: During training, there is absolutely NO reason to fly through a thunderstorm. REAL good advice. Thunderstorms, or TRW's in weather parlance, are responsible for a large number of the air accidents. Fatal and non-fatal both. Large hail-stones, huge volumes of rain, microbursts, unpredictable airflows, massive turbulence, the list goes on. The rule is: Go over, around, but never THROUGH a thunderstorm! Sorry, rambling again... Enjoy, whether in weather or out :D Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! Sgt, USMC, 10 years proud service, Inactive reserve now :D
