williams6346
Having resolved my previous issue i.e. downloading scenery in win 7 I now discover my Trust Predator Joy stick, which I have had for 5/6 years and worked faultlessly does not work in Win 7, FS seems to recognise some of the buttons, but once assigned they do not work, I have been on the manufacturers web site, where it states it does not need a driver as it is compatible with all Windows op systems?? any one have any ideas other than scrapping Windows 7 which is becoming more and more appealing. napamule2
The joy should be 'recognized' by Win 7. You do not need any drivers. Un-plug (USB plug), wait 10 seconds, re-plug and wait for OS to 'detect' and 'install' hardware (which is automatic, with notification of same on bottom right). Scraping Win 7 is overkill. Re install of FS9 would be waste of time. Win 7 CAN be configured to work with FS9 and any hardware you add. ViperPilot2
I have to ask... this joystick has a USB plug, right? One tip is to use the joystick with only the USB ports directly attached to the Motherboard; not the Accessory ports in the front of the Tower, or through a USB hub. Like both pschulte and Chuck B. said too; check the Controller Settings to see if all of the Buttons are recognized, and/or unplug the stick for a minute or 2, then plug it back in. If in fact the joystick you're using has the old DB15 'Gameport' plug, and you're using a Gameport/USB Adapter... you need a new joystick.
