Driving on shallow water?

Hi guys.

This is a new one for me. I recently decided that I like bush flying in the piper cub. So I got the J.E Narcizo Piper PA18 Super Cub. I have modified the .cfg slightly to make it into a 'super stol'. In bush areas like Alaska in particular, pilots perform 'water assisted landings' where they approach a sandbar or shorline they want to land on and begin their landing in shallow water. That should have given you an idea of what I am on about. For this to happen do I need to modify an aircraft .cfg to make it's front wheels float or is there an addon to do this. If not no worries. Any help is as always much appreciated.

Being there...Done that. Ha. Honest. In FS9 and FSX. PA18A Tundra Take1, under 'Flight Simulator Demos': Link: http://youtu.be/JcaHOGG7PZQ .

 

What you need to do is to add 'floats' to (Contact Points) section of aircraft cfg. You adjust the 'height' so the tires don't go underwater so you can emulate that 'skimming' technique. Depending on what model you have, and whether I can download it, I can help you configure a set of floats (by that I mean I don't have any 'payware' models). Go Tundra!

I had a hard drive crash last year and had a hard time locating the cfg and air file for Narciso's 'v3' J3 Cub but I found them. I could email you the files (which would make flying it 'maxed out' a lot easier) if you PM me your email. I will zip them up.
