Intel Processors and serious "speculative execution" security flaw. Updates, when available, may well slow processors down significantly, 17% to as much as 30% it's claimed. AMD appears calm and reassuring so far, but Intel users need this information. Gamers are less affected than those using strong movie, photo, and streaming processes:

Except for the fact FS is largely CPU driven, not GPU driven.

 

I like how Intel's CEO cashed out of 39 mil worth of stock prior to this crap coming out.

Yes, but the specific slowdown is during the user/kernel mode switch. FS spends the vast majority of its time in user mode. The only time you do lots of these transitions are when you're doing heavy network and/or disk I/O.

 

Which FS doesn't do a lot of.
