Ideas for steering tillers

First, I’m not aware of “steering tiller” being a standard FSX axis assignment (correct me if it is), so I think you’ll need a registered copy of FSUIPC to get this working. Once you have that, it shouldn’t be a problem.

OTOH I think it’s a quite expensive solution. And on my workspace, I can’t think of where to place it so it isn’t cumbersome when you don’t need it (which is most of the time) and yet easily accessible when you do.

Me personally, I use one of the “rings” on my X52 throttle assembly as steering tiller.

I have a Sidewinder Precision Racing Wheel and Sidewinder Pedals (USB) and use it with race cars. But not to fly as the wheel can't (in no way) be used for elevator control. So you (I?) would be 'stuck' with no elevator.

I use a Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick (USB) and it works perfect for all around EVERYTHING. Ships, vehicles, tanks, UFO's, airplanes. I screwed it on top of a old speaker case (wood), filled it with weights so it won't move, and placed it to the right of my chair. I removed the right arm rest for 'elbow room'. It stays there. Yet is never in the way of the keyboard or mouse. So, I would not get a yoke if you gave it to me for free. KISS.
