Shasta from where I live near Klamath Falls, OR, and I can say from personal observation that about the top 1/4 to 1/3 is almost always covered with ice and snow. I like to think of it as a handy visual warning in case Shasta ever starts to get ready to erupt. I figure that as the lava moves up, the snow will melt. If I ever see Shasta as clear of snow as you show, I am going to start worrying! Still, a great post. Thanks! Rainier is just as tall and it has snow on it all the time in FSX.
