FSX-SE ~~~ Eye-point views...

I note that with FSX-SE the "default" FSX key commands [shift + Backspace; Shift + Enter] for moving the eye-point view up or down do not work...

Is there a work-round for this function - so useful for viewing the touch down point before landing.

I believe you are talking about a 2D panel view, not VC?

Set up your CONTROLS/BUTTONS & KEYS or use the defaults for "VIEW (Always Pan Up)" and "VIEW (Always Pan Down)". They work OPPOSITE the way you want your eye point to move your seat position, so to speak. Personally I use custom keys "Q" for panning down, which raises my seat, and "A" for vice versa. Q and A keys are in a logical and readily findable position on the keyboard. The original uses for Q and A are set up by revised custom keys or buttons.

It is a little slower than the old method, but works. I believe the legacy FS9 method for a 2-D panel was eliminated in FSX.

Remember the VC and 2D cockpits are different things.

Below are the Default FSX keys which work fine for me. If they don't work for you you'll have to do some tweaking like mikeandpatty said.

EYEPOINT MOVEMENT in VC cockpit

(hold the keys down to slide your eyeballs, and use in conjunction with the zoom keys '-' and '=' to get it looking how you like it)

SHIFT Enter= Up

SHIFT Backspace=Down

SHIFT CTRL Enter= RIGHT

SHIFT CTRL Backspace= LEFT

CTRL Backspace= Forward

CTRL Enter= Back

Hold CTRL and hit SPACE= Reset

SEAT RAISE/LOWER in 2D cockpit

CTRL Q= Up

CTRL SHIFT Q= Down

The 2D panel wass the one I needed - been so frustrating since installing SE :(

The "Always Pan Down/Up" were what I needed and now works fine ~~~ sheesh :)

If you are in 2D panel view, pressing the 'W' key TWICE will eliminate the dashboard and leave you with the Mini Panel gauges and a clear view of the runway. Use my head (hehe).
