I should have said the thread I linked advises to use the onboard video first and set th resolution to the lowest available. (it mentined 800x600) Then to install the graphics card, and boot. Somehow that helped. It also gave some recommendations on bios settings. It mentioned a more powerful PSU, but I know that's not the route you want to go. I thought the other tips maight be helpful though. Maybe you can still return the addon card(s). In that case forget I said anything.
