taylat
After running on windows 7 for a few years my computer boot manager went to pot and after a lot of deliberation decided to totally up date my whole computer , it now consists of a new mother board ,new SSD , 2 x NVIDIA 970 gtx cards and all coupled to an i7 6670 processor which run 2 x triplehead2go and a shared screen (8 screens), this was all done by a computer specialist shop .The start up speed is amazing but after installing both FS2004 and FSX , Fs2004 wont even boot up!! and once FSX is in panel mode and I try to undock views it freezes then crashes!! Whilst I had a problem with FSX on the old computer hence I didn't use it FS2004 worked fine running over 10 screens all powered by an i7 3370 and the matrox units Have I made the computer to fast for FS2004??? I have tried various modes of starting FS2004 (administrator , exe etc. etc but nothing happens any thoughts on either problem will be greatly appreciated. thanks taylog
ViperPilot2
You'll need to follow the Instructions in this Thread carefully... http://calclassic.proboards.com/thread/7470/fs2004-start-read One other thing... take your time making these changes, and don't let the process frustrate you! taylat
Thanks for the advice and link , I now can get FS2004 work but after the initial splash screen starts I have to clink 3 more times on the fs icon as the screen goes back to desk top !!! A small price to pay but on my first test flight using default 737'at Seattle the flight stutters every 2secs , this can't be a graphic problem as I've just had a new SSD card , new top range motherboard and am running 2x NVIDIA 960GTX Cards , any ideas? My system is running Windows 7 and on my older NVIDIA cards ran with no problem.Any ideas will be appreciated also I've installed FSX in the same drive and am having no end of problems getting that to run!! But will start an FSX thread . Thanks again Taylog
taylat
Thanks for the reply, the link worked but for some reason I'm getting stuttering in flight every 1second , the sliders aren't set high but can't understand as the computer is now twice as powerful and the video cards are top of the range! Any thoughts ?
