Making custom lettering for avionics displays

Dear all,


I want to build an avionics panel which has more than just the standard segment displays used. See the picture below.




How do you build these displays to get the custom elements used for the text in the display?

Sebastian, those panels are made with either Matrix displays or multiline LCD displays. They are controlled with special chips which allow you to program the display to show any font or character. There are several companies who make such controllers. You then attach them to the display. One such company is Pokey. Their Pokey 56-57 series will allow you to connect up to 55 i/OS, including matrix and LCD displays.




My first SIM was a Link Trainer. My last was a T-6 II
