Try the following:

On the taskbar click on the magnifying glass incon - this opens the search wizard. Type FSX in the field and then hit enter.

If no files are found using the wizard try the following:

Open explorer (called File Explorer in Win 10) by either double left clicking on the Computer Icon located on the desktop (if available) or by single right clicking on the Windows Icon located at the left of the Task Manger bar and then left clicking on the File Explorer entry in the resulting list.

In the File Explorer window single left click on the File Tab and then click on the Change folder and Search options entry. In the Folder Options pane click on the View tab. Under the Files and Folders > Hidden files and Folders section select the Show hidden files, folders and drives option and then click the Apply button to save the changes followed by the Ok button to close the pane.

Ensure that the C:\ drive is selected in the list displayed in the left hand pane. In the search box - located at the top right hand corner type FSX - the search should start immediately but if it doesn't just hit enter.

Regards

The 'default' general camera definitions are found in the camera.cfg file located in the FSX root directory. The individual aircraft camera definitions are found in the individual aircraft.cfg file.

That said, I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick and have never had to set any additional settings to use the hat switch.
