hwy305
I really appreciate the work that various A/C authors, such as TDS do. I have been around since FS95 and have enjoyed the work of so many folks that try to do the best they can. However, I am really frustrated with the so big time "complete aircraft" that are content with defaulting to the MFS panel and sound. Come on, if you have the skills to do such a fantastic job of creating a B727 or B737, then put a decent panel and sounds with it. Don't just default it to the crappy MFS panel and sound. I DO NOT have the skill to make a panel or sound to go with the Great planes. Just a thought from an old man. Fred Smith USN (RET)

zswobbie1
Just thinking that there are still those of use who should be thankful for what all those freeware developers have done for us , instead of moaning & demanding. As you have been involved with this hobby of ours since FS95, you should, by now, have the skills to be able to search through our library for panels & sounds, or anything else, & to be able to install them. Our freeware developers are actually quite amazing with what they give us, some are experts in the models, others specialise in paints, panels & sounds, & there are those that do all. Not too late for you to start? Robin Cape Town, South Africa
CptCaveman
I get the frustration, its something that I myself get a lot with many games. Content you really want to play just wont play ball or requires extra work to run properly. However in the case of the TDS folks, its unavoidable. They dont make virtual cockpits or panels because its a lot of extra work for zero gain. But the thing is once you learn how to do just one panel and vc merge in FSX, you have learnt to do them all. And it really is a lot simpler than you realise. Its just that the way its done can be hard to grasp at first. It also opens up a lot of new options. For example I downloaded a freeware GA plane with a crap VC. I replaced it with a nice VC and panels from a similar plane. Now I have a sweet GA model with an almost payware level VC. Result! So my advice is to take heart and learn a new trick. It opens up a world of options for FSX. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
