Simon M
Anyone else had this issue. Recently bought the engravity CDU2 which connects via ethenet cable. My rig has 4 PC's on a LAN, main PC is Win 7 the rest Win 2000 and I'm running Project Magenta across the lot. The CDU needs to connect to a Win 2000 machine as that's where the PM CDU software sits. As the Ethernet port is already in use for the LAN connection I need to add a second ethernet port for the CDU2. I've used an USB to ethernet adapter to acieve this but I can't configure things so the CDU2 and PC start communicating. I've followed the install procedure to the letter and checked Engravity's website, which said "yes it does work with PM" and a "I need to type in the com port number assigned by the PC into the PM cdu.ini file". I can't find an assigned com port number so I've tried the " start at number 1 and try numbers sequentially" approach. No luck there so far (I'm up to 20). If anyone can shed some light on what to do I'd be grateful. Simon
il88pp
I find here: "Engravity Instructions If you have an Engravity MCDU, install the drivers that come with it first, and find out on which COM port the unit lives (use Windows hardware management and look under Ports)." http://www.hoppie.nl/mcdu/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
