Clarindo
I use Glenn Copeland's excellent 4th Hand gauge which automatically retracts the aircraft landing gear after take-off and will automatically extend it before landing. It has a delay altitude default value of 1400 feet and for every flight I must manually adjust the gauge icon to my desired altitude of 2000 feet. I find an .xml file in this gauge folder which has the 1400 value listed as follows: 1400 (>L:4thHand_AltCorr, number) Have tried to change this value to 2000 but find that I do not have access for typing in the new desired value. In my limited knowledge I am wondering if .xml files are editable and, if so, what program could be used to accomplish it. Any assistance will be very much appreciated for my progress/liberation from the current repetitive manual adjustment for every flight. Thanks. Jim Robinson
It sounds like you might be opening the XML in Internet explorer (which is the default double-click action for .xml) so instead of double clicking right click and choose 'Edit', that should open it in Notepad where you can edit and save, etc. Jim
Clarindo
Thanks a lot Jim and il88p, for your assistance. Notepad has allowed me to edit the gauge, as intended. Embarassing to confess but my copy of il88p's post in "12-20-2015 at 10:39" did not register and I have not located it again in the forum. Was I dreaming or did it really exist?...
