FSUIPC Question

Hi.

I hope that I'm posting this in the correct forum.

I have a registered version of FSUIPC compatible with FSX + Acceleration.

I'm trying to use the "Buttons and Switches" section to alter the barometric pressure setting up and down via a rotary encoder which in turn is slaved to a Leo Bodnar board.

I have gone through all the commands offered via FSUIPC and have even tryed making a suitible macro to do this but have met with no success.

Please, can anyone help ?

Thanks in anticipation.

I know nothing.. nothing!

I will show my thoughts though.

It is very very important to know what kind of signal the dial is sending (via the bodnar panel).

I was thinking turning the dial to the right is either:

clik - click - click -click - etc - etc

(which means it emulates a series of keypresses.)

Or I thought turning results in some sort of "sliding scale". Similar to a throttle lever, between -100% and +100%. That would mean it becomes a axis I suppose. But maybe the Bodnar set does not work like that and I'm wrong on that last option.

I Googled for "Bodnar to rotary switch fsuipc" and found this link to the SimFlight/FSUIPC Forum where Pete Dawson responded. (creator of FSUIPC).

It seems there are more possibilities for the type of signal that is being sent.

for example while turning it right:

click--off--click--off--click--off--etc--etc.

Anyway, it's well above my head, but I hope that link helps you further.

Some other suggestions:

There is a Forum here on Flightsim.com, "Cockpit Builders" where these type of questions come up often.

Also possibly helpful: Flightsim.com "Panel and Gauge Design" Forum.

And most helpful of all, just contact the FSUIPC forum. You can look around for answers, or open a thread for help. I'm sure they will be glad to help you out.
