Stanjock
Not exactly new to FS but not been on here for ages (health). Anyway `puter was upgraded to W7 and I simply cannot get the older FS (gold edition) to play on it, will not even load. Any suggestions guys and gals, is there a version that works on W7 ?? Thanks in advance from a cold, wet and windy Scotland.
mrzippy
FSX Gold Edition should play nice with W7. When you say it won't load, do you mean it won't get past the starting Splash Screen? Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
il88pp
Gold edition installs on Win7. And works fine. (I'm using it on Win7-64 bit. It works on win7-32 bit as well.) What do you mean. "won't load". Wil it not install? if so, what is the error message you see when running the installer. and/or symptoms of pc when trying to install. Or do you mean it is installed but FSX will not start and run? if so, again, what is the error message you see when you try to run it. ScatterbrainKid
Hey Jock, when I installed my FSX Gold, it chose to install itself into Prog Files (x86) and it runs fine on Win7. Some people say we should install to Prog Files, and others say it's best to install to a separate folder, I suppose it depends what our system specs and stuff are, where did you install yours? Stanjock
Sorry on late reply, away last day or so. Tried again this afternoon if you guys have it running W7 then it`s possible could be the drive on the stack, simply will not bring anything up on the screen, just spins away, no prompts nothing. Fairly new machine but I`ll check with the techie. Checked the FS discs and they are perfect always kept in covers and no scratches. I`ll have another shot later, thanks for the input guys, appreciated.
