pilotposer
Hello, Milton Shupe's FS9 Lockheed L18 Lodestar has a wheel light issue where the lights do not retract with the landing gear. Is there a fix for this so the lights don't just hang in thin air under the retracted landing gear. I have downloaded the update for this craft but the problem persists. Thank you
mrzippy
I've downloaded and installed this aircraft and will test in a while. Are you seeing just lights shining under the retracted gear or is it like a hanging light assembly? Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! pilotposer
Hi Mr. Zippy, All the lights are fine except the lights on the landing gear. When the gear is down the lights are in the right position. When the gear is retracted, the wheel lights stay where the wheels were, and hang under them. Thank you,

I just did a test flight and will post a screenshot so folks will see it. I would guess these are taxi lights, but no switch is provided for them. mrzippy
I think this might work! I changed the effect being used for left and right gear taxi light. I borrowed it from a POSKY 737-800. light.7 =6, 2.759000, -7.0430000, -4.45800, Opensky-taxi-refl //fx_taxi_ju //left gear taxi light light.8 =3, -34.32000, 0.000000, 3.09300, fx_navred //tail white nav light.9 =7, 15.505000, 0.000000, 0.05500, fx_taxi_ju //NoseWarningLight light.10 =10, -14.904, 1.342000, 2.87000, fx_cabinlites light.11 =10, -5.761, 0.000000, 3.02800, fx_cabinlites light.12 =10, -14.904, -1.342000, 2.87000, fx_cabinlites light.13 =6, 2.759, 7.043000, -4.45800, Opensky-taxi-refl //fx_taxi_ju //right gear taxi light Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! ifrfun
Please remove the two gear light effects from the lights section. The lights are modeled to the gear. However I need to provide an update that will automatically turn them off when retracted. ifrfun
Lockheed Lodestar Model Replacement Updates and Aircraft.cfg Change 1.3 This update replaces 6 model folders and instructs you to change the aircraft.cfg. The models changes are as follows: 1) Automatically shuts off the modeled gear taxi lights when gear is retracted 2) Lightens the tint on the wind deflectors Requires removing two gear Lights from the Light section of the aircraft.cfg. Simple install instructions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zs89cewqgxm2wv6/Lodestar_Updates.zip?dl=0 Let me know how it goes. If all is well, I will do the official upoad. Thanks Milton Shupe Milton, I have a question. I'm "flying" the Lockheed L18-08 Commercial Air Services ZS-ATL 1967. It currently is using model=l18pw, as stated in the aircraft.cfg In your listed download, under the Lodestar\Updates\model.L18PW folder, I find L18-14.mdl ...with corresponding model.cfg. Now, the problem is .... I find no instructions to modify the aircraft.cfg to show the change to model=L18-14. Am I missing something somewhere ... or did you include the wrong model number? It's no big deal as I can change, but others might not be so lucky. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
