About This File

FS2004 U.S. Army Air Service Fokker D. VIII. Textures for Frank Elton's Fokker D. VIII representing an example photographed at McCook Field in 1919. The Germans didn't do much with the D. VIII because by the time it was ready for combat the war was over. But the U.S. Army recognized a promising fighter when they saw one and shipped some home. This one received an Air Service serial number and an Engineering Division project number. It's finished to early post-WW1 specifications in overall olive drab with full-chord national insignia inboard of the ailerons and red white and blue rudder stripes with red at the trailing edge. The serial number is in large black characters on the fuselage sides and the project number is on the white rudder stripe. Textures only; requires FOKD8.ZIP. Aircraft by Frank Elton. Repaint by Mick Morrissey.
