About This File

FSX Grumman XF10F-1 Jaguar_v1.

The XF10F is a member of the Grumman cat family, called the Jaguar.
A US Navy swing-wing prototype fighter that first flew in 1952.
Unlike the F-14, the XF10F wing slides forward and backward to vary the swept angle.
And the large jaguar drawn on the plump body is very fashionable.
The XF10F is also my favorite "never completed aircraft".
I have not tested it works other than FSX ACCELERATION.
FSDS v3.5 model by UENOSHING.

If we had more stars I would use them to rate the Jaguar, It is nothing short of fantastic, amazing, wonderful, and pure fun to fly.

The level of detail is beyond anything I've seen in countless aircraft through the years.

It only has a VC, but in this case, due to the level of detail, it is all you need,

Every button, switch, rivet, and plexiglass scratch make you feel these are photos.

It took me a while to realize that what looked like 10kt on the airspeed indicator was actually 100kt. This is a VERY fast and maneuverable aircraft.

Well done and I'm looking forward to your next aircraft.

Payware quality!!! The VC is simply stunning! I don't give it 5 stars because there's only a very basic manual and you have to fly by guess ( rotation speed-approach and landing speeds , max ceiling , stall speeds,  ............flight data missing). I'd give it more than 5 stars for the visual part but looking at the whole package in my opinion 4 stars is the right rating.

Amazed how good this is. Stunning exterior detail, paint job, cockpit and panel, plus excellent flight model. I really feel like I'm flying this aircraft! As per the prototype it seems underpowered due to issues with the experimental J40 engine, so plenty of runway needed for take off; but once airborne it's great to fly and soon picks up speed. Also a breeze to land thanks to variable wing geometry and extensive flaps.

Hi Uenoshing, many thanks for one more perfect and amazing aircraft! Again in payware quality and so many details. I've never heard of this experimental aircraft and did not know about swept wings allready in this era. With full flaps not only the wings are fully extended but als the tail wheel appears. Also the 16 small speedbrakes looks so perfect. Great job!

Even there are hundreds of switches in the cockpit the aircraft can be flown with the default key commands. The engines starts properly just with Ctrl E F4.

The acceleration for a take off is poor and you'll need a long runway but I believe it is regarding the prototype with a non powerful engine.

My best regards

Erwin

Response from the author:

Hi Erwin,

Thank you for your review.
I spent a lot of time and finally finished it.
There are so many small parts that even I feel like I'm going insane.
I have taken all your advice so far into consideration.
I am very grateful to you.
The real XF10F didn't get afterburner.
So this model is underpowered.
have fun!
