About This File

X-Plane 11 Scenery--Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport. Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport serves the port city of Guayaquil in Ecuador. It was previously named "Simon Bolivar" but was renamed after the new passenger terminal was inaugurated in 2006. This airport began its construction on December 1956 and has undergone a series of modifications through time. The most significant changes to this airport include the remodeling of the old terminal building in 2003 (now a convention center), and the construction of the new terminal building in 2006. Guayaquil is the second busiest airport in Ecuador and receives both national and international airlines, cargo flights, military flights and is home to the great majority of Ecuador's general aviation. In fact, a great percentage of Guayaquil's daily traffic consists of general aviation with flights ranging from flight schools to banana, cocoa, pineapple farms, fishing companies, and the executive planes of big companies. This scenery package was made with the help and permission of Boris Forero who recreated Guayaquil's buildings with great detail for FS2004. Other custom made buildings have been added to keep the scenery as real as possible. Details are not only found in the airport, but in the city as well. Please see the Readme.txt file for more information including library requirements. By Sandro Rota - Ecuador Aviation Photography.
