About This File
FS2004 Potez 620. The Potez 62 civilian airliner prototype, based on the Potez 54 military aircraft, made its first flight on January 28, 1935. It retained the shrouded wing of the Potez 54 model, which was attached to the fuselage of a redesigned and superbly aerodynamic fuselage. The captain and co-pilot were seated side by side, and behind them were two cabins that could accommodate up to 16 passengers. The production aircraft, powered by an 820 hp Gnome-Rhône 14Kirs engine, was named Potez 620. The skin was composite with a wing covered with canvas and metal leading edge, the structure of the fuselage being in wood. There was a military version, the Potez 65, which differed only slightly from the civilian model. By Denis Fouchard.
