About This File

X-Plane 11.50+ Curtiss P-40 Warhawk 1.2.1. The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American single-engined, single-seat, all-metal fighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. The P40 design was a modification of the previous Curtiss P-36 Hawk which reduced development time and enabled a rapid entry into production and operational service. The Curtiss P-40E is the last Allison engined of the famous Curtiss fighter. Original model by Philippe Gastebois (curtiss_p-40e.zip) and updated with his kind permission. Always one of my favorite aircrafts; I used to have a 1:32 model when I was a boy. Some liveries included: American, Australian (RAF), French, Soviet, and Dutch. Version 1.2.1: like some of you, I experienced some weight and balance issues in X-Plane 11.50, so I have tried to fix them. By Henk de Bruin.

The P-40E was hardly the last production Allison engine version of the Warhawk.

The P-40K, M, and N were all production versions with updated versions of the Allison.

There also appears to be a slight error in the doors which should completely cover the tail wheel.
