About This File

FS2004/FSX/P3D Generic GCA Gauge V2.1. This V2.1 (October 2019) package contains three Ground Controlled Approach modules: Approach Pattern Control (APC), Precision Approach Radar (PAR), and a custom Autopilot (AP). You can request Pattern Control from 20 to 30 miles out, and the Approach Controller will set you up for a downwind, dogleg, or straight-in approach leading to a glideslope intercept from which to start the final descent. Taking over at the intercept, the PAR Controller will talk you down until “over the runway.†The processes can be run either in “auto-learn†mode or in a range of manual modes creating challenges of varying difficulty. The project is highly indebted to Karol Chlebowski’s AILA (Airborne Instrument Landing Approach) gauge, adapted by permission of the author, and Doug Dawson’s sound gauge. FS2004-specific modifications by Tom Gibson, historical research by Tom Harnish, GCA gauges and manual by Manfred Jahn. See the video for a brief introduction.

I won't use it, but what a great addition. I was a GCA controller during my last tour. We had a different "patter" than the US, but it worked great when you arrived over the gate, shot up with few instruments working.

After a few minutes my FS9 crashes irrespective of which aeroplane I have added this gauage to. Perhaps there is an element missing

Try a reinstall. First time I have heard this reported, have tested it on FS9 myself, and had no negative feedback from the guys at Caclassic, who are all dedicated FS9ers. Pay particular attention to which DSD sound gauge you are activating in the final step of the install.

Thank you. After much experimentation I guess the problem is a bug in my FS9, because if I fly in the UK or Malaysia and click on GPS at anytime my system crashes. Anywhere else it's OK.
