About This File

X-Plane 11.30 Supermarine Spitfire MK 1A 1.1. I'm currently working on this Spitfire MK 1, but it's a huge job and I'm not sure I have the courage to finish it by myself. If somebody would like to help me with the animations, I would be really interested and grateful. If you feel you can't help with the animations, I would still very much like to hear from you, as I would like to know your opinion on the appearance of the aircraft and also the flight dynamics. Please use the comments section below. Thank you. By Stephane Toledo.

Your not facing anything that the original designers faced. You will notice the many changes over the manufacture process, many of them subtle , but since they werent in a position to take their time as the war was already on the changes came thru unfortunately enough pilot injury or demise. The most important in the long run was the engines, When they changed that, the performance and maneouverability changed and hence , one of the worlds greatest. Take at a look at history, WW@ aircraft, everyone looks at the Mustang, yes sleek , sexy , aerodynamic and flew superiod, but when it came to dives , yes it was fast and accurate, BUT it did not beat out the slowest and heaviest P-47 Thunderbolt. The thunderbolt had a slow but steady climb rate, more piolts came home shotup instead of in a box, but after they installed more armour in the cockpit they didnt have that issue. In training more pilots of the P-47 died when releasing a 500 lb. bomb fron the belly, the plane would nose up and fly inverted into the ground. We lost 68 pilots in the 47 at the First Defense Airport in the U.S. Located in Millville N.J. (KMIV) a portion of this airport along with its museum is still used by the govt, and the original bombing strafing area open to the public still carries tons of live 50 cal rounds, crash debris, and ww2 aircraft parts strewn from crashes. (its called the Bevans Wildlife Management Area) when you hunt the 33000 acre area the older group as myself know where the action is , as to some that shoot pheasant on the ground they learn the haed way, the last gut set of a ww2 incenderary. So if you need the info on aircraft and need constructive feedback yoy know where to go. On that aircraft id install a Merlin.
