Sorry but what does one mean when referring to "fsx native". Is this a Microsoft original game plane that has been updated?

Who cares the virtual cockpit though nice is such that you cannot see past the instrument panel making realistic flight impossible. Nice plane otherwise!

@btwallis; FSX native means it's compiled for FSX, not for fs9. This means there are separate models for the exterior and the interior. And the model will never work in fs9 but it improves the frame rates in FSX.

@Semjase: Use Shift Enter, seat up, and you can look over the panel.

For a constant speed prop there was no prop control or proper RPM gauge, nor was there a landing gear lever with indicator lights. It's got 'em now!

Plane flys great and faster with the retractable landing gear; you need to adjust the seat height or move the seat back in order to see out the cockpit window Bud

I have been flying this C182RG aircraft as my GO-TO GA aircraft, especially when I fly with FSPassengersX, and I converted its .cfg to accommodate the extra two child seats in the rear. Thank you for this excellent GA aircraft.

My problem is with the Landing and Taxi lights. The taxi light does not illuminate at all. The Landing lights above the front wheel come on but do not illuminate the sourronding ground or terrain objects.

I have tried many times to modify the .cfg and panel files but have not been able to get them to illuminate the ground.

I have tested my other Cessna aircraft - 172, 178, other 182's, 206 and 208. All of these aircraft have fully functioning Taxi and Landing lights, does anyone know where the problem lies with the C182RG, I suspect it may be a problem in the Model.

Lance.

This is basically the default FS2004 Cessna 182S somehow edited to be a R182 and converted to FSX format, but without its original virtual cockpit. I wonder how did they pull it off as for a long time I believed aircraft MDL files can't be edited, let alone there may be a copyright issue given they edited a Microsoft model and distributed it.

But hey, finally a freeware Cessna R182 for FSX after many years.

No, it is not the 2004 182s, as it's not a native FSX model. It looks to be a whole new exterior with a reuse of the interior model of the FSX Cessna.
