FS2004/FSX Westland Widgeon III. The FS2004 aircraft modelled here, the Westland Widgeon III, was first built in 1927. Eighteen of the Widgeon III's were built and a further seven of the IIIA with a metal fuselage completed the production. Unfortunately the Widgeon design was more expensive than its competitors so production was halted in 1930. The Widgeon was unusual for a British design with its parasol wing layout unlike the majority built at the time with their biplane design. Its performance was compatible with other light aircraft of the period, i.e. slow but safe. The model also works in FSX. By David Molyneaux.
