About This File

FS2004/FSX Aeroproyecto Ilyushin IL-62M. This FS2004 model was intended to fulfill most of the simmers expectations trying to settle at some middle way between simulation and simplicity; this means that not every system works as real one does. By Edgar Guinart Lopez.

This mod is unflyable. stalls at like 250ias, not worth the download, I am personally going to avoid this mod maker's work and advise others do aswell.

yes I am, over 6,000 hours logged in flight sim. This aircraft stalls out so easily its not even funny. It needs serious work. If your messing around trying to fly it at low altitudes and by hand then I can see it being alright (using that term loosely) but trying to operate it at all using autopilot or FBW systems. Its not possible at all.

There are two things that annoy me the most that mod makers with Jet aircraft, non-functioning autopilot or on board systems. And a cockpit that is in another language (which I like because of realism) and has NO tooltips/popups in english of what each switch is.

This mod does both of these and I can not recommend it. I'm not a harsh reviewer by no means, I will overlook one or two problems if I have an enjoyable and flyable aircraft to fly. This mod does not do that for me. Its not enjoyable, and its not flyable (with on board systems, which for the sake of "realism" is a MUST in Commercial Jet mods)

For the sake of argument I will give some positives,

On the GROUND she handles great, the turning responsiveness in the rudder is one of the best I have experienced. The model and sounds are good. The 2d cockpit would be great if it had that tooltip thing I mentioned before.

This mod has potential but in its current state its just something I can not in good conscious recommend to people. I did the same thing with an A350 review before, it was good on the outside, its internal systems were completely crap. I didn't recommend it ether.

but before saying I need to "learn" or if I'm being "serious" look at the reviews of the other mods on here I have flown, I recommend quite a good amount of them. So far out of 18 or so reviews including this plane I have only not recommended 2.

maybe I should have gave this mod a full review like I did the other ones, and maybe in the future I will (it really depends if I care to pick it back up and try again)

but when that was posted I had spent upwards of 4 hours trying to get even a passable flight out of the aircraft, every-time it stalled at around 10,000ft.

So I was in a hostile mood I will admit that, I still don't recommend the aircraft. Like I said it needs a lot of work but I do hope mod makers do read these comments and try to learn from them. If the onboard systems and panel were fixed in a patch I would gladly recommend it.

Thank you by your time, and thank you for present the best of your 6,000 hours in the sim... need AP y FBW to fly, forgotten, this model is not for you.. need to learn again the basic things. Time wasted. Thank you one more time by your download. You are not alone... here a little problem as seen by FAA.

There should be no reason for an aircraft to stall at over 250IAS. I will download and see if the accusations are honest. I have over 15 years of simulation experience and fly in real life.

I had no problem with stall. At above 10.000 ft i testet speeds between 150 LAS and 375 JAS.

But i had another problem: How can i start the APU?

The switches APU Pump, APU Start and APU Shutter are all worling fine.

Also all buttons are working fine.

Th only chance to start the four engines is tu press ctrl E for automatic engine start.

It takes about 6 - 8 minutesuntill all engines running.

Is there any solution or tip in sight??? Thangs for your help.

1. read the manual carefully. To Start the APU Engines.

2. Set main electric switch by "right" click to on for activating the avionics.

3. All fuel pumps and crossfeeds set to on.

4. APU start: Chutter set to open, start valve set to on and the covered button right click to activate.

Then click start button for APU. Then activate the air pressure by setting both the levers to on.

5. Engine starting: set start levers to on and press start button until red rpm warning lamp is glowing.

This is an excelent Aircraft with no major faults. The stall Problems that had reported above I could not noticed. I testet a speed range between 150 and 275 Knts JAS above 10..000 feets and I still have no stall problems at all.
