Computer Speed/RAM to run FSX.

I need some welcomed feedback on whether I need a new computer or not.

My trusty, 14-year old Dell XPS 400, running Vista 32 bit OS may have run out of oomph to run FSX. It crashes, the screen flashes and in general, it runs poorly.

I have two HD, C: has 28.7GB free of 232GB capacity, D: has 169GB free of 232GB capacity and an external G: has 392GB free of 465GB capacity.

The system has 4.00GB RAM with a 2.80GHz processor

FSX is currently run on G:, but is still left on C:, thus the space issue. I am hesitant to delete it from C: for fear of screwing something up.

Anyhow, the question is, is it possible to sort this system out or should I simply start from scratch with a new system?
