Basic GPS
To program an airport ID in to the GPS:1)click direct
2)Click lower left arrow (there are 4 arrows on the big knob)
3)type the Id you want to fly to
4)click ENT untill it asks you to comfirm that is where you want to fly. (activate?) hit ENT to confirm.
5)the GPS will now tell you the name of the ID. how far it is, and when you will arrive as well as the direction and how long
it will take you to get there. Use the autopilot in the GPS mode using the NAV
to let auto fly you to your destination.
6)advanced: once you get the hang of typing in airport ID's and flying to them, the next step is to select the kind of approach
you want to fly into that airport. If the apt has ILS then you can select the ILS approach and the autopilot/GPS combo will
fly you to that ILS. Other approaches include RNAV and GPS approach and VOR/NDB approaches. This method
of flying relieves you of navigating so you can concentrate on flying the plane.
