Could someone please explain to me how to fly an ILS in FSX default flight plans? I've already tried many things, but never got the desired results.

Please help me!

Thank you!

open up the world map, find an airport with active ils. this is seen as the green flag thing coming out from the airport. click on the green flag thing, a menu appears with 1. frequency and 2. course. next stage is to get in a plane with navigations available, i tend to use the 737 for ils. in VC or 2D panel, you set the frequency in NAV1 and NAV2, then make sure they are both active. after this, type in the course on the CRS. make sure you have the autopilot in NAV not GPS. then you fly out downwind maintaining 3000 ft for about 14miles. turn and start your approach as follows:

1. by 11 miles away the green flag thing should be right where you are. at this point you should be at 3000ft

2. turn on the VOR LOC button, this makes sure you are in the correct line of direction for the approach

3. once in line, switch to app. note this may turn off altitude hold as it does mean the aircraft is descending by the ils

4. maintain speed to avoid stall, suitable for approaches depending on the aircraft

5. about 1mile / 1/2 mile on low visibility you should be able to see the runway

6. at this point disable app and go in manually, remember the aircraft wont land itself!!

hopefully this shall help you. happy flightings!
