/images/notams/notams21/maje0520/majestic-1.jpgIt has been a while since our last update, but this one is going tobe short and simple. The title speaks for itself and we are notreleasing any information regarding any other simulator platform orDeHavilland variant at this time - needless to say questions asked ofsuch will be ignored. A few months ago we put out a feeler for items that the communitywould like to see and so we have decided to provide some enhancementsto the visual aspect of the aircraft. This post will only show someearly work that has begun in the cabin, and so we decided to provide afew early development images. /images/notams/notams21/maje0520/majestic-2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/maje0520/majestic-3.jpgWe will be showing more images of the "AIRCRAFT" as they becomeavailable by our modeling team. Majestic Dash 8 Q400 Special Bundle PackPublisher: FS2CrewReview Author: Richard NurseSuggested Price: $44.95/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.pngIntroductionIn almost 40 years of history, flightsimulation has evolved to become an advanced platform that trulyrepresents the real-world aviation industry. Flight simmers areprovided with high levels of immersion, enjoyment, and gain incredibleknowledge as third party products accurately reflect their real-worldcounterparts. FS2Crew's Majestic Dash 8 Q400 Special Bundle Pack is at theforefront of this immersion in the industry, and it represents itsfantastic host software, the Majestic Software Q400 very, verywell. Here is why this product is so good: It uses real-world Dash 8 Q400 SOPs designed in close consultation with Captain Brendan RatchfordVery easy installation and setupIt is a very stable product, with hardly any glitches evident to the userIt offers voice and button control interface options, for those who don't always like to use voice onlyIt uses Dash 8 Q400 specific crew-flows, with the ability for your copilot to control ALL systems completely independent from you, the userYou can even do bleed off or on takeoffs and landingsEasy InstallationThis product is available for Prepar3D versions 4 and 5. Simplychoose your platform and follow the installation instructions: /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-15.jpgAfter installation, run the Configuration Manager which should nowbe available on your desktop. Click on the button to Enable VoiceControl. And that's it! /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-14.jpgEasy SetupAs the Pilot in Command, you interact with the system either withVOICE COMMAND, or by BUTTON COMMAND. Voice Control SetupIn order to utilize the speech recognition of this product, youhave to setup the speech recognition feature of Windows. /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-10.jpgYou must run the voice training so the computer can learn yourvoice. This is a CRITICAL step. If you don't run the voice training, your speech recognition accuracy rates will not be high. /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-03.jpgButton Control SetupYou have to open the User Guide to assign three buttons, which would beused to interact with the system: Main Button or Hard Mute Key: Used for primary interactions with the system such as interaction with the First Officer. In voice mode, this is used when you want to employ mute for extended periods of time.Secondary Button or Soft Mute Key: Used for secondary actions such as interacting with the flight attendant, and acknowledging remarks from the crew. In voice mode, this is used when you only want to employ mute temporarily, such as when communicating with on-line ATC.Opening and closing the Main Panel: Unlike in other versions of FS2Crew, you cannot open the FS2Crew main panel by clicking an area on the instrument panel. This is due to a technical limitation with the Majestic Dash 8 since it only uses a VC cockpit. The only way to open the main panel is by creating a keyboard/joystick assignment. Review of the PanelsThe Main PanelThe Main Panel is the primary interface for the system, and depictsthe stages of the standard operating procedures in the textdisplay. It is a 2D pop-up panel, and opening and closing this panelis done by button, as we discussed earlier: /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-02.jpgOverview of the ProceduresThe procedures are based on a real-world checklist which FS2Crewprovides you with, as you are the Captain in Command. 24 Hour System Checklist: If this is your first flight of the day, you must perform the"24-Hour System Checks". Upon pressing the main button, the Captain'svoice will sound, prompting the First Officer (FO) to perform the24-Hour System Checklist. The FO will then prompt you for completingeach item in the checklist. First the Engine Fire Detection Test: /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-11.jpgThen the APU Fire Detection Test: /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-06.jpgAnd so on... Preflight Procedure: In order to initiate the Preflight phase of the flight you mustclick the PF EVENTS button on the main panel. /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-01.jpgThe following actions then take place: Main exits and baggage compartment doors open. At around T+24 he announces that he is out for the Walk-AroundThe Flight Attendant (FA) asks to begin boarding around T+23.At about T+19 the FO returns and performs his pre-flightprocedure. /images/reviews/fs2cq400/t/fs2crew-dash-8-q400-07.jpgHe interacts with the cockpit in real time, changing and testingsystems such as the TCAS and weather radar, and ensuring that thecockpit is in the correct state. If a switch is positionedincorrectly, he will correct it. Before Start Procedure and the rest of the proceduresThe FO performs all of his duties completely independent of theuser, and interacts with the Majestic Dash 8 to manipulate systems tomake them appropriate for each phase of flight. Thisproduct is the quickest way to utilize the fantastic Majestic Dash 8as if you were the real pilot. This is an excellent product, and one Icannot do without. Easy installation and setupThe FO configures the cockpit independently of the user, providing the relief benefits intended by the FOUses real-world Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Q400Passenger and crew announcements fully integratedVery easy to use /images/reviews/fs2cq400/title3.jpgThis product is one of the best utility add-ons on the market andso I award it a full 5 out of 5. /images/notams/notams19/maje0814/maje0814.jpgThe silence in the Majestic Software Arena has been deafening overthe last few months, but we are now in a place where we are beginningto see the light at the end of the tunnel. For starters, the TRAINING Edition from jump street met a fewchallenges along the way which delayed our planned delivery timeline, and to add the to delays, P3D crossed over the the 64 bitplatform. Work was paused on the TRAINING Edition so that we couldmake the Q400 compatible with the 64 bit platform, and this as mostknow required us having to re-write a vast majority of the code whichtook some time. Moving forward to over a year later, while developmentis still on full blast life still plays an essential role regardingfamily, work and personal matters which also slowed things down a bit(but work never stopped). What is the current state of the TRAINING Edition project? We have completed the independent front panels which we showed overa year ago, along with the overhead panel which all have been adjustedfor touch functionality. The remaining portion of this part of theproject is the center panels. The final addition to the core of theproject is implementing the FDR (flight data recorder) panel and itsfunctionality. From this point we should be able to put the Beta teamback to work. /images/notams/notams19/maje0814/majestic-1.jpgFor those interested in the TRAINING Edition, you're probablyasking "When is the release?" Release dates we will not discuss, but we are hoping to have theproject released before the end of the year providing that the betateam does not find any issues that may extend the planned releasetime-frame. We will of course make it known if this becomes anissue. What about new features? Many have asked if we plan to implement PBR, rain effects and anddynamic lighting. We would like to eventually, but with the presentflow of the project these features have been put on the back burneruntil we can finish the project. We will continue to assess thefeasibility of implementing these features for the upcoming release, but more than likely if we don't add the features in question uponrelease they would be added in an update later on. Speaking of updates! Yes there are several issues that have been listed in the bugtracker that need to be fixed, and they will be fixed in one of theupcoming updates following the TRAINING Edition release. Theupdates/patches will address all editions of the Q400. What about that other turbo-prop thing-a-majiggy the Q300 v2. As you would have figured the much anticipated upcoming Q300 v2took a bit of a back seat amidst everything else going on in theMajestic Software world (yes it's been well over a year since we gave asolid update), and we sincerely apologize for the lengthy delay. Manyfolks are dropping hints regarding our projects that they are dead orit's fake news. So here's the bottom line on the Q300 v2 to some of thefrequently asked questions. 1. Is it going to take another 4 years to develop? We plan on getting back into the meat and bones of the Q300development by the beginning of 2020, and it should not take thatlong to get this project off the out of the hangar. 2. Are you going to develop the 100 and 200 variants? That is the plan, but these variants will be developed after theQ300 v2 project. 3. Is the Q300 going to be considered as an add-on package for the Q400? No, The Q300 is a separate package completely that will have itsown PILOT, PRO and TRAINING Editions. 4. Will the Q300 v2 have PBR, rain effects and dynamic lighting? That will be a part of the plan as we'll have the time to implementand properly test these features. 5. Will Majestic Software be developing products for X-Plane? At this time we do not have any plans for X-Planedevelopment. While this is a platform that has spread its wingstremendously over the last two years we are not able to simultaneouslydevelop for both P3D and X-Plane. On a side note: Back in June the flight simulation community wassurprised to see the intended launch of an old contender in theSimulation spectrum - MSFS2020. For many there is much excitement andanticipation for the upcoming release based on the recently releasedtrailer. We are unable to make any comments regarding the upcomingplatform as we have no inside details as of yet to help us indetermining if we'll be adding our products to the newly developedsimulator. we'll share more information regarding this when there issomething to report. As always we thank everyone for their continued support. The Majestic Software Team Source

/images/notams/notams19/maje0103.jpgFellow Crew members: It's a new year and while we have been somewhat very silent we havebeen very busy behind the scenes. We have been able to complete thetouch screen functionality for the main and index panels, along withthe macros allowing users to have the capability of spinning knobs onthe touch screens. Closer to the finish line, but not quite there yet,as we still need get the FDR aspect completed. I know most of this sounds boring to most of our Dash fans, but theTRAINING Edition has also been a important part of our productline. With the recent release of Prepar3D v4.4 a few new features havebeen made available for which we have been getting many requestsregarding our plans for implementing rain effects, dynamic lightingand the recently made feature PBR to the Q400. Well in bits andpieces, I have responded cautiously in this area, as we have not madea firm decision as to our plan moving forward. Our modeler has beentasked with checking into the feasibility....more information on thiswhen a firm decision has been made. And yes I know the burning question most folks are wondering about....what about the Q300 v2? On a daily basis we receive questions regarding progressupdates. This is the year that we certainly plan on going full forceon the Q300 v2. Is there a specific time frame? Upon completion of the Q400TRAINING Edition. We too have a burning desire to get back into the Q300 developmentas it is long overdue. However, in a nutshell, we will give updateswhen there is substantial information to share, and no, the project isnot dead, just moving at a slower pace than the Q400 TRAINING Ed. As always we thank you all for your continued support, and we wisheveryone a safe and productive 2019. The Majestic Software Team Props Rule!! Source
