asos
From time to time, FS9 acts weirdly. I have the A.F. Scrub Seafire installed--seafire_mkib.zip. I have these entries in the a/c cfg (changed them myself): [fltsim.0] title=Seafire Mk Ib sim=seafMk1 model= panel= sound= texture= checklists= ui_manufacturer=AFSCRUB-Supermarine description=Seafire MkIb Hooked FAA GW-L atc_id=GWL atc_airline=NAVY ui_type=Seafire Mk Ib ui_variation=FAA GW-L [General] editable=0 atc_type = SUPERMARINE atc_model= SPITFIRE performance=Maximum speed: 357 mph.\nService ceiling: 36,500 ft.\nRange: 475 miles\nPower plant:Rolls Royce Merlin 45M, 1,585 hp, \nVee 12 cylinder, Liquid-cooled\nWing span: 32 ft. 6 in.\nLength: 29 ft 11 in. \nLoaded: 6,620 lb Category=airplane Here is the weird thing: When I ask ATC for transition through the airspace, I get this: "Army 803 is type Experimental requesting transition" I checked the whole ac.cfg text meticulously to find any ATC entries that contained "ARMY" and\or "803"--none were found. Any ideas?
JSkorna
If you have used EditVoicePack then Army is included. None of this has anything to do with the ac.cfg file. http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png
mrzippy
1. I agree with Jim on EditVoicepack. It's one of the better addons for both FS9 and "Brand X" that I use. 2. Callsign...I have downloaded and installed this aircraft(seafire_mkib.zip) Seeing that it is a Royal NAVY aircraft and I see you tried to modify [fltsim.0] to reflect the NAVY vs. ARMY, my Sim allows me to make the callsign change without modifying the aircraft.cfg. My callsign is "NAVY 1234". Can everyone here please excuse me for the Brand X screenshot? 3. How ATC refers to you to other aircraft as you have shown with "Army 803 is type Experimental requesting transition" This is done like you tried under [General] I will try SEAFIRE instead of SPITFIRE to see what happens. With my EditVoicepack, I already know that SPITFIRE will work. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
mrzippy
SUPERMARINE SEAFIRE works perfectly for the ATC reference to your aircraft. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
asos
mrzippy, Where should the phrase SUPERMARINE SEAFIRE be inserted in the [fltsim.0] section???
mrzippy
mrzippy, Where should the phrase SUPERMARINE SEAFIRE be inserted in the [fltsim.0] section??? Under [General] only! I have made no edits in the [fltsim.0] section. asos
mrzippy, I now have this: [fltsim.0] title=Seafire Mk Ib sim=seafMk1 model= panel= sound= texture= checklists= ui_manufacturer=AFSCRUB-Supermarine description=Seafire MkIb Hooked FAA GW-L atc_id= atc_heavy=0 atc_airline=NAVY ui_type=Seafire Mk Ib ui_variation=FAA GW-L atc_flight_number=GWL [General] performance=Maximum speed: 357 mph.\nService ceiling: 36,500 ft.\nRange: 475 miles\nPower plant:Rolls Royce Merlin 45M, 1,585 hp, \nVee 12 cylinder, Liquid-cooled\nWing span: 32 ft. 6 in.\nLength: 29 ft 11 in. \nLoaded: 6,620 lb atc_type=SUPERMARINE atc_model=Seafire editable=0 Category=airplane and the problem still exists. I still get: "Army 803 is type Experimental requesting transition" I may give up the effort altogether.

asos
mrzippy, I did not have it installed, but I downloaded it and installed it. I tried adding a callsign to the Seafire in question --"VELVET"-- but I failed. I even searched utube on how to add EVP callsigns to specific a/c but that did not help. Should I keep EDIT VOICEPACK or uninstall it?

Should I keep EDIT VOICEPACK or uninstall it? Keep it! You mean like VELVET 1234? I don't have FS9. Is there a "detail" section that shows your aircraft like in my shot in post #3? That's how you change callsigns, not in the aircraft.cfg. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
asos
If by DETAIL SECTION you mean your screenshot with the Spit on the ground, I can also get that if I activate the ATC control. Then I can ask for permission to take off, ATIS, etc...by tapping the numbers on the keyboard.
Nightowl702
Forget about the aircraft cfg file. start the sim and go to the aircraft selection screen and select your aircraft. Stay on the aircraft select screen and look on the left side of the screen for the box that is labled ATC Name. If you click Change you can then change the callsign and flight number to anything that is available. Edit Voicepack greatly increases the number of callsigns available for you to choose from.
