lazyfortress
Currently I have a Radeon R9 380X Black Edition, and I use FSX SE with a bunch of AI. So far the game is pretty good, but when near airports with high AI traffic, such as JFK, the game gets very laggy. I also have a AMD FX processor. I care a little about great graphics (like my aircraft showing up nice and crisp), but my main concern is the lagginess of airports with high traffic. I was considering a Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 390X or a Radeon R9 fury, or some other Sapphire GPU. I am a 100% AMD GPU user. I dislike Nvidia for some odd reason. But which graphics card would be best to buy? Should I consider getting a better processor? Which one? Any help is appreciated!

mallcott
If you are talking about FSX (you really should specifiy what simulator you are on about) Intel processor and Nvidia card.
il88pp
If fsx. Intel. Aim for 4790k or 6700k with nvidia card self built pc. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
krasen
Greetings All, Should I consider getting a better processor? Which one? il88p hit the nail on the head; an Intel processor will do more for you than a video card upgrade. I switched from an AMD Phenom II 970BE to an Intel 4790K. They were both running at 4.1 GHz, but the Intel CPU provides much smoother flights in dense airports and higher FPS... Though the smoothness was the most noticeable. comtedeloach
You currently card should be fine. Typically it's shadows that kill frame rates, maybe make some adjustments to that Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
lazyfortress
My motherboard is the MSi 970a SLI Krait Edition. It's AMD only. I don't feel like having to get another motherboard. I'm willing to spend up to $350 on a processor. What AMD processor will make FSX run great with all of my AI traffic?
