Why not use LNG in aviation?

Not sure what the proper subforum would be appropriate for this question, so I'm posting here.

I was looking at the weight of JP-5 and LNG. LNG weighs about 3.5 pounds/gallon and JP-5 weighs about 6.8 pounds/gallon. LNG is also a lot cleaner. Sine the U.S. is the world's number one producer of NG, it would also be economical. So with that, why don't we design aircraft engines to burn LNG? What's say you.

You also have to look at the energy density of LNG, as well as storage and handling. Being a compressed gas, the fuel tanks would need to be much stronger. Think of the propane tank for your BBQ, for example. There would also be a much larger demand for compressing NG into liquid form, which is energy intensive. As for the energy piece, how much energy do you get out of a gallon of LNG vs JP-5? If it's much lower, you would need to carry more fuel.
