Guest rohan_005
How far ahead should the propeller be located from the wing leading edge? Effect of propwash should be minimum on stability, the airflow over the wing should also not be effected adversely. Can propwash be useful?
lnuss
How far ahead? There's not a fixed distance. It all depends on the design of the individual aircraft. Propwash can delay the stall a little, over parts of the wing, under some conditions, and it can give the rudder more authority. But its main use is, of course, to move the aircraft along. May I ask the purpose of this question, what you want to do with the information? I ask because this is a rather unusual question. Larry N.
