opcartmell
I recently acquired the Carenado C90B King Air which has only a Virtual Cockpit. I use FSX with Track IR. The default position of The eyepoint is too close to the panel to be comfortable flying. I know this is adjsutable with EZdok but is there any adjustment of the eyepoint possible without an additional purchase? ScatterbrainKid
Dunno if these work with Track IR but you could try these default FSX keys- VIRTUAL COCKPIT EYEPOINT MOVEMENT (Hold keys down to slide your eyeballs) SHIFT Enter= Up SHIFT Backspace=Down SHIFT CTRL Enter= RIGHT SHIFT CTRL Backspace= LEFT CTRL Backspace= Forward CTRL Enter= Back Hold CTRL and hit SPACE= Reset For example hers are some different eyepoints in the Cessna 172- (NOTE- use them in conjunction with the zoom keys ('-' and '=') to further get the view looking exactly how you want it)- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/sub2/FSX-eyepoint1_zpsmqamutj3.jpg~original http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/sub2/FSX-eyepoint2_zpsffzoxuzl.jpg~original http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/sub2/FSX-eyepoint3_zpszw3jg2bu.jpg~original If you're in an open cockpit job, you can also slide your eyepoint right or left like this to crank your head over the side to see what's ahead- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/ExIS/cpitE.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/ExIS/cpitF.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For good measure here are the default FSX 2D cockpit keys, you can't slide your eyepoint in 2D, but you can go up and down to simulate raising the seat- 2D COCKPIT SEAT RAISE CTRL Q= Up CTRL SHIFT Q= Down Example: DC-3 2D seat normal- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/CMSF/FSX-2D1.gif ...and raised- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/CMSF/FSX-2D.gif
opcartmell
Scatterbrainkid, Thanks for the reply. Each of these works fine until you recenter the view in the Track IR. Then the view returns to the default position. orvwright
Hi all. Once established in the VC with TrackIR use the + - keys to move the panel closer or farther away. It wil stay there after recentering.
il88pp
You can also move the eyepoint. line in the aircraft.cfg, example: eyepoint=-0.9, -1.35, 2.95 //Longitudinal, Lateral, Vertical (feet) If you move it too far back you end up in the seat and can't press/click switches any more. - (negative) is back, left, and down. More positive is forward, right, and up. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CptCaveman
For OP; As said above setup your seat with the cfg file. Once thats done, you should setup a new "cold and dark" save for your default flight with your new view point and zoom level adjusted for the new VC. Then when you start a flight it will be saved to your new setting as default. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
