Mooney Bravo VC update?

CptCaveman

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, as the title suggests Im looking for an updated VC for the Mooney Bravo. Its a nice plane to fly, but the VC is pretty bad for its view. The black bar in the middle of the cockpit glass is annoying as hell (and not actually there on the model) as is the sloped angle of the VC itself making it hard to see off the nose properly and making the view feel cramped.

So does anyone know of a VC for this plane to improve it?

Thanks for your time.

This may not be exactly what your are looking for, but you may have to try a payware version for anything much better.

I do see you point, however, and it looks to be a texture problem rather than the model.

Technically the fault is on the exterior model, not the VC.

If you look at RW Bravo pics you will see that bar in the cockpit.

Ever been in a real Bravo?

They are kinda cramped for most people.

You can play with the view point and maybe find something more to your liking.

Thanks for the effort Zippy but thats just a texture update. Its really the rake angle of the view thats the problem for me. I see more of the nose than anything else on screen. It makes landings pretty tricky as I have to change the view to peer over the cowel. Or else I just cant see the runway at all.

@String - I know its supposed to be a tight fit as I saw one at an airshow a few years ago. But as I said above its the rake of the view thats "off". Its like its set to the ground level and not the aircraft (the bravo is a bit nose up on the deck).

Very frustrating as its a really nice plane otherwise. Its the only downside to it.

So change it, hold down the space bar and move your mouse until you get the angle you like.

If you want to make a semi-permanent change you can edit the aircraft.cfg.

You are correct in that the default VC camera is pointed at the horizon.

I had never really paid much attention to the bar, but after checking a few RW

images, I think both the model and the VC is correct. You don't see a dividing bar

on the external view of the RW plane, and you do see it on the inside. After checking

a few, it seems the bar runs inside the cockpit, and maybe slightly back from the

glass. So pretty much matches RW from what I can see. I might check some videos

and see if I can get better views..

To me the issue with the VC is that it's an older model and textures, and is the exact

same as it was in FS9. It was not updated for FSX like the Baron was, as far as the

VC and it's textures. I've sometimes pondered maybe updating the textures with

higher res versions, but not sure if that would totally do the trick or not.

I never really noticed any real problem with the view.
