beroun
Hi (FS2004), I have a great Altitude call gauge on all aircraft I fly but sometimes, for some reason the altitude calls can not be heard. I tried all kinds of combinations but the calls are either OK or not there! I have the gauge and sound file installed, and a proper entry in the panel.cfg file (Bottom in red shows the one for Lear) Any idea why the calls are sporadic? Or what could be causing that the calls are not always heard. Mr Bojangles
Hello Beroun, in your Panel.cfg there are missing entries about the callouts gaugeXX=CALLOUT_SOUND!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,0,0, Sound\CALLOUT\Sound.ini gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT2500, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT1000, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT500, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT100, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT50, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT40, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT30, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT20, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUT10, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUTAPPMIN, 0,0,0,0 gaugeXX=CALLOUT_BigJets!CALLOUTMIN, 0,0,0,0 Look here or at another downloadside i,e. beroun
Hi, My panel.cfg does not have to have the call-outs entries. My gauge 39 refers to the sound files in the sound folder. You are referring to the BigJets call outs, which are probably set differently. Also my call-outs now work just fine after I start the flight in the Instrument Panel view and then switch to Virtual Cockpit. Thanks for answering anyway. Regards Peter Bendl ex. Mr Bojangles
I see your Problem, you can only hear the callouts in the 2D Panel. its clear You have to put the gauges also in the VC Section in your Panel.cfg then you can also hear the callouts when you start your flight and go in the descent or Approach. here the exampe from my B747 Panel.cfg - Look at gauge number 21+22 thats are the same like in the Window00, but here in the Virtual Cockpit Section, it is in the same Panel.cfg but down under the other 2D Panel entries Window00 - WindowXY [VCockpit01] size_mm=512,512 pixel_size=512,512 texture=$747_1 background_color=0,0,0 gauge00=Boeing747-400!Standby Altimeter, 0, 113, 111, 101 gauge01=Boeing747-400!Standby Airspeed Indicator, 112, 114, 111, 110 gauge02=Boeing747-400!Standby Attitude Indicator, 113, 1, 111, 111 gauge03=Boeing747-400!Primary Flight Display, 6, 234, 243, 267 gauge04=Boeing747-400!Multi-Function Display, 286, 259, 224, 252 gauge05=Boeing747-400!Clock, 1, 1, 113, 113 gauge06=Boeing747-400!EICAS Display, 286, 2, 224, 252 gauge07=Magnetic_Compass!Magnetic-Compass,225, 166, 60, 59 gauge08=Boeing747-400!Autopilot IAS-Mach Window, 233, 0, 45, 15 gauge09=Boeing747-400!Autopilot VS Window, 226, 15, 59, 16 gauge10=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Heading Window, 233, 31, 45, 15 gauge11=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Altitude Window, 226, 47, 59, 16 gauge12=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Hdg Switch, 259, 253, 25, 29 gauge13=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Localizer Switch, 256, 64, 29, 30 gauge14=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Approach Switch, 226, 96, 29, 29 gauge15=Boeing747-400!Autopilot VS Switch,256, 96, 29, 29 gauge16=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Nav Switch, 226, 126, 29, 29 gauge17=Boeing747-400!Autopilot IAS-Mach Switch, 256, 126, 29, 30 gauge18=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Speed Switch, 257, 285, 29, 29 gauge19=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Altitude Hold Switch, 226, 64, 29, 30 gauge20=Boeing747-400!Autopilot Master Switch, 259, 227, 25, 24 gauge21=GPWS_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,,, ./sound/GPWSalrot747vc/Sound.ini gauge22=rcb-gauges!GPWS3_3_Default, 613,751,82,31 gauge23=Boeing747-400!Nav Display Switch, 264,
beroun
Thanks Mr Bojangles, I tried that exactly as you are suggesting, but for some reason placing these two entries: gaugexx=GPWS_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,,, ./sound/GPWS/Sound.ini gaugexx=rcb-gauges!GPWS3_3_MasterWarn, 597,290,12,12 under the Lear's [VCockpit01] section caused my FS to shut down. Could not even open the flight. It was definitely this entry because removing it opened FS OK. BUT now even with the entry ONLY! under the main panel [Window00], the call-outs are heard when I fly in virtual cockpit (without the entries there!). BUT must start the flight in Instrument panel and then switch to the virtual cockpit. Bit of a puzzle. Peter Bendl ex. British Airways
Mr Bojangles
Hello, yes you are right. I tried it yesterday and Fs breaks to. So I puzzled with this two lines in the Panel.cfg gauge21=GPWS_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,,, ./sound/GPWSalrot747vc/Sound.ini gauge22=rcb-gauges!GPWS3_3_Default, 613,751,82,31 here is my solution. Its enough when these gauges (gauge GPWS_Sound and rcb-Gauges) are in the [VCockpit01] at the last Position stands. and NOT again in the main Panel section [WINDOW00]. then I dont Need the boeing callout gauges, cause in the GPWS_Sound Gauge resp. the included file GPWSalrot747vc has always the Wav files in there. So here t gives two different Solutions. 1. Either try the boeing callouts only OR 2. try the GPWS_Sound plus rcb-gauges I hope this will help you a Little. If you have furter questions so ask me or here in the Forum. for now good flight and happy landings
beroun
Many thanks. I am OK now with the entries in Panel.cfg under [Window00] only. As mentioned, must start the flight in the Instrument view and then switch to Virtual cockpit. It is actually OK, since I always like to set the flight in Instrument view anyway. Happy New Year and many safe landings. Peter Bendl ex. British Airways
il88pp
I noticed something. But I haven't tested this. In post 3 you mention you added it to the vc. The second gaugeXX you list has coordinates 597, 290 but below vcockpit01 it says: size_mm=512, 512 maybe that's why fs crashed? The gauge is outside the defined visual area. In the window01 those coordinates work. In window01 it says size_mm=640 try changing the coordinates of the gauge in the vc to 10, 10 for example. May save you from having to start from 2D every time. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

The following is an example of my DC-10. Each callout is a gauge and gauges are used in the panel.
