jetmaker
Hello folks... I am having an issue with getting "airport labels" to work in Win 10. I've done this edit a few times before in Win 7 to the "standard.xml" FSX file whereas one inserts a few specific lines to the file , which allows the user to toggle airport names off and on. My entry was CTRL+SHIFT+P TOGGLE_AIRPORT_NAME_DISPLAY Saved file ....Encoding=UTF-8 Can anyone help me here? Thanks
il88pp
Do you perhaps mean Aircraft labels? Displaying them is a function you can simply assign a key to inside FSX. When flying, click options-settings-controls. Click the "Buttons/Keys" -tab and set a key for "Aircraft label (display/hide)". PhantomTweak
Could it be perhaps when you saved it in UTF-8, it added coding the program can't read? Is it possible to save it as just regular, average, everyday text? I've had that situation before. I do hope you saved a backup of the untouched file? If so, open it Window's NotePad, do your editing, then just save it with the default settings. PlainText format. Just a possibility... This little gauge, which can be easily added to virtually any panel, will display the ICAO code, the airport name and the airport's location as you pass nearby. The display can be fixed on a panel or can be installed as a pop-up window called by a panel icon. Complete instructions and sample setups using the default Cessna 172 are included. This gauge is designed to be used in the 2D cockpit environment has been tested in FS2004 but may work in FSX also. Thanks for the reply.... this entry into standard file will actually show the "airport" names above the airport when you do a flyby in the view window.
