Ahhhhh, I KNOW that last shot. I live very close to Crater Lake. About 1/2 way between Klamath Falls and Crater Lake. A huge, deep, DEEP lake, in the crater of a dormant volcano. It's bound to erupt eventually, maybe when Shasta goes off...And it will. There's even talk lately of a huge, sub-sea volcano off-shore that could go any day, causing a huge Tsunami that swamps most of the West Coast. Nothing we can do about any of it, just watch what it all does.

ANYway, fantastic shots! Very realistic scenery, great aircraft. Thank you for the post! I was wondering who that was that flew over yesterday :D

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Wow! Crater Lake is really cold, blue, & salty!! I just dipped my dinghy (Goose) into it and taxied around a bit. Beautiful though.

Heading back to Klamath Falls we stopped at Prospect State airport. We saw a bunch of motorhomes and a guy grilling on his barby. Pat, that wasn't you grilling out was it?

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

Nope. Haven't grilled nor BBQ'd (there is a difference, y'know) in a couple weeks. I gotta get me a nice juicey London Broil...

I'm in Chiloquin, exactly 1/2 way 'twixt N' Tween Crater Lake and Klamath Falls. Ancient Native American establishment. Oldest known in the US, I believe. Roughly 11,000 years continuous habitation, near as they can figure. Home of the Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooska tribes.

Mostly quiet, peaceful, lovely, green, trees, deer, antelope, black bear, cougar, and now a pack of wolves growing nearby. Owl, quail (fat FAT quail!), you name it. I live atop a hill overlooking Agency Lake, and every morning I get up, and look out my sliding glass door at the lake, the mountains, forest, all of it, and after nearly 30 years in Yuma, I tell myself "I can NOT believe I live here!"

Can you tell I like it? And I don't own a motorhome. Maybe someday...

We DO have an airport though, used by Fed-Ex as an alternate if KLMT is closed, and by fire crews as a rest-n-refit, refuel, whatever, base. Great little restaurant across Hiway 97 from transient parking, too. Total of about 50 feet away, LONG walk, I know. Melita's. Lotsa folks stop in for a $100.00 hamburger. My lovely wife and I eat there once or twice a week. Gimme a head's-up, I buy ya lunch sometime :D Beware though, you better bring an apetite. Their servings are twice the size of the chow hall's version of "serving"!
